Tickets are now sold out.
And there’s plenty to do before the fireworks display, with small fairground rides for the children, hot food and drink stalls and a licensed bar.
There’s further fun with face painting and other activities. And if you have Halloween outfits, keep them out and wear them, as there are prizes for the best-dressed children!
Gates are open at 5:30pm, and it’s best to arrive early, to give yourself plenty of time to get parked and on the site ahead of the fireworks.
And it’s easy to get to, with parking available in the surrounding area (the usual Stadium Way car park is not available this year), as well as being on the Sky Blue 16 bus route and close to the Purple 17 bus route from Reading Town Centre.
The usual Stadium Way parking area is not available to use this year. Please use surrounding areas to safely park and allow time to make your way on foot.
The Reading Lions’ fireworks are back for 2021, at the ground of Reading City FC on Scours Lane just off the Oxford Road.
The Reading Lions’ fireworks spectacular is one of the largest, organised fireworks display in the area and not only provides great entertainment but also helps raise funds for local charities. And along with the fireworks, there’s a selection of small funfair rides for young children, hot food stands, drinks, and a licensed bar.
The fireworks are set to music with a spectacular display lighting up the night sky. It’s great entertainment for all ages. There’s parking in nearby areas, and the location is on the Route 16 bus and just a very short walk from the Route 17 bus. So it’s easily accessible via car and via public transports.
Tickets are cheaper in advance, and you can buy them here right now or any remaining tickets will be available on the gate on the night itself at a higher price (subject to ticket availability). Please note tickets are now sold out.
As well as the fireworks display at 7pm, you can enjoy all the fun of the fair!
Gates are open from 5pm, so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the attractions.
There will be a selection of small rides and attractions for young people, both before and after the fireworks display. Please be aware this is not the full fun fair with adult rides as per previous years.
The Stormtroopers of the 501st Legion UK Garrison will keep order at this event (you can ask for a photo, if you dare!)
Plus around the ground, there’ll be other entertainment taking place too, including prizes (from our friends at Northwood Estate Agents) for the best Halloween dressed children!
You won’t go hungry whilst the fireworks display takes place!
There’s plenty of tasty food outlets and a licenced bar.
Tuck in to hot food from stands including burgers, hot dogs, soup and curry.
And there’s hot and cold drinks available too.
The Reading Lions Fireworks Spectacular is taking place at the Reading City FC ground on Scours Lane, off the Oxford Road, just west of the Norcot Road roundabout.

Parking is available in the areas around Oxford Road and Loverock Road. Our usual area of Stadium Way is unavailable this year. We advise arriving by 6pm to ensure that you have plenty of time to get parked and through the entry barriers to be in position for the fireworks display, which starts at 7pm.
Due to loud noises, a large crowd expected and the safety of all (including dogs), we regret that only dogs with specific ‘Guide’ or special medical assistance abilities will be allowed on site.
No, it is unfair on those who have arrived early, especially those with small children.
The fireworks display will start promptly at 7pm (except for a delay caused by operational or technical reasons). We strongly advise arriving early to give yourself plenty of time to get parked and walk to the Rivers IBIS Club where the display is held.
There are no refunds available should you arrive late and miss the fireworks.
No. Under 5s are admitted to the Fireworks Spectacular for free, and don’t require a ticket to gain admission.

Please be aware that some areas are uneven or grass and may be difficult for wheelchair users.
Typically the display lasts up to 20 minutes.
It is impossible to determine the exact length as the fireworks are lit manually, and wind conditions can cause the fireworks to display quicker than usual.
